Audio visual case study: Liverpool FC Museum
It was a nice project to work on; particularly for a football fan like me. Timescales were tight on the project; however by working closely with the main contractor we were able to finish everything on time and to the satisfaction of the client.

Liverpool FC Museum's launch event welcomed LFC staff, tourism executives and suppliers to celebrate the official opening of the Steven Gerrard Collection. The new exhibition space includes a video display area installed by Pure AV and Mike Molyneux, Pure AV's sales manager for the Liverpool area was there to join the celebrations.

Background

Visitors to the Liverpool FC Museum can now explore a rich set of memorabilia tracing the highlights from Steven Gerrard’s career. Housed in a newly created room the collection features personal memorabilia including medals, shirts and mementoes from his career to date.

A multimedia film featuring an exclusive interview with Gerrard himself helps bring the exhibition to life and a central wall houses a collection of screens providing visitors the opportunity to experience some of the highlights and key moments from his career.

Pure AV is very excited to be involved in this addition to the Museum and the creation of the video display area is a key element of the project.

The Solution

The central wall features five LG monitors displayed in a mix of landscape and portrait orientation to provide a backdrop for the main film content. Audio is provided by 4 ceiling mounted Extron Speakers linked to an Extron Digital Sound Processor and uses proximity sensors to control operation.

Housed on the other side of the central wall are three additional LG monitors mounted in portrait with individual listening posts and each playing different media.

In addition to the audio visual equipment on display Pure AV has also installed a control system allowing staff to control volume and turn the system off and on via a Crestron panel.

The Results

Mike Molyneux, sales manager at Pure AV comments,

It was a nice project to work on; particularly for a football fan like me. Timescales were tight on the project; however by working closely with the main contractor we were able to finish everything on time and to the satisfaction of the client.

With the LFC museum already a popular highlight for visitors to the Anfield stadium the addition of the Steven Gerrard collection looks set to boost visitor numbers further as fans seek to share in the memorabilia of one of their favourite stars.
