AV Award Shortlist Success

AV Awards Finalist 2021

We are delighted to announce that Pure AV is a finalist in the fiercely contested Education Project category at the 2021 AV Awards. Our work at Queen's University Belfast to upgrade learning spaces for inclusive hybrid experiences securing our place on the shortlist.

The project involved the upgrade of seven teaching spaces to enhance the learning experience for all students, whether accessing in-person, via lecture capture or a hybrid setup.

The new facilities offer state-of-the-art lecture capture and streaming facilities, seamlessly joining the traditional tools of the lecture theatre with the virtual environment. In addition, the remote and recorded experience is enhanced by the automated capture of lecturer and audience interactions, delivering a more complete experience for remote learners. The solution also offers an intuitive user experience and has created a step-change in the way academics interact with students locally and online.

The new facilities have received an enthusiastic response from university staff and students. Dr Dan Corbett, a lecturer at, School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, said.

“The system brings about a paradigm shift in how students can interact with academics. It provides a wealth of opportunity to the university and its academics, both in relation to the more traditional teaching within which they've previously engaged and concerning the identification of novel educational and delivery structures.”

The project has been a true partnership between Pure AV and the team at the university, who have worked together to deliver a solution that has helped overcome the challenges of the pandemic and created a model for future learning space deployment.

Now in its 23rd year, the AV Awards recognise and reward excellence across the audio visual industry. The project awards are judged independently by senior representatives from end-user companies and key industry players.

The results will be announced during the much-anticipated annual AV Awards ceremony to be held at Battersea Evolution in London on the 5th of November. With the awards returning to a face to face event following last year's virtual ceremony, it promises to be a fantastic evening of networking and celebration.
