Background

When BAM Construct UK relocated its Manchester office, it was a move to familiar ground. The destination, 11,000 sq ft of office space on the second floor of the Metro building, a property designed, developed and built by the firm in 2008.

With an impressive new office environment the team at BAM Construct UK needed to deliver meeting and presentation facilities to match. They established as a priority the creation of a cable free environment and the provision of the best possible functionality within the budget available.

Estimator Colin Wills and IT Manager Daniel Chant of BAM Construct UK came to Pure AV with an outline of the audio visual equipment required for the project already in place. However, at this stage there was frustration as they had not been able to include the cable free environment they wanted within their available budget.

The Solution

The Pure AV design team worked with the BAM project team to create a new solution that improved functionality and created the potential for wireless presentation all within budget.

The meeting rooms needed to be flexible to adapt to different room configurations, easy to use and allow wireless connection to the presentation screens.

Flexible meeting spaces:
Meeting rooms 1 & 2 can be used independently or joined together to create one large presentation space. A simple to use touch screen allows the room user to easily select and control the display devices whilst automatically delivering the audio best suited for each different room set-up.

Easy connectivity:
Cable free connection to the displays is managed using Barco ClickShare. Plugging the ClickShare button into the USB port of a participant’s device delivers the ability to instantly connect, click and share content to the main presentation screens.

Meeting room management:
The office move created increased demand for meeting spaces. To help make room management as effective as possible an Evoko room booking system was added to the design.

The meeting rooms are clean, clutter-free and professional, using market leading technology with a simple user friendly setup.

Changes to room configurations are straight forward. The introduction of easy to use control panels pre-programmed to suit the different room layout options means that room users can get started quickly and without the need of involvement from the IT or facilities management team.

Easy content sharing, no trailing cables

There is improved efficiency within meetings.With the ability to quickly and easily share content to the main display without trailing cables and to switch presenters at the touch of a button; meetings now run smoothly and with minimal time wastage.

Straight forward room management

Finding available meeting space is now straightforward. When meetings finish early, a simple tap of the touch panel updates the room status on the booking system ensuring rooms are not left empty unnecessarily.

The vibrant red or green LED illumination provides staff on site with a quick visual indication of room availability and makes finding ad-hoc meeting spaces easy.
