Staffordshire University wanted a full design and install of all the AV facilities within the new Science Building at the Leek Road Site of Staffordshire University.
This work would include some standard and some challenging installations to around 70 rooms including general teaching areas, specialist scientific teaching laboratories, digital signage and information systems. After a mini tender with four NWUPC (North Western Universities Purchasing Consortium) supply and install contractors Pure AV were commissioned based on our clear, unambiguous and complete response to the tender.
We have worked with Staffordshire University for many years and understand their need to create an engaging learning environment for students. The initial stage was to consider the implementation of technology in the new £30million Science Centre, and install suitable AV solutions across specialist science and technology laboratories, interviews rooms, IT suites, flexible learning spaces and two lecture theatres.
The technology we installed allows lecturers to input information in several ways and connect with their students in a meaningful way. There are recording facilities and displays which clearly communicate the information staff and students needs.
During this project we worked to clearly defined structures and methodology, including end of day written reports, adapting to major structural changes and tight deadlines.
The most important aspect was to ensure the facilities were up to date and future proof for years to come and that they would make a real difference to both the staff and students. As well as installation, we have ensured there has been appropriate and ongoing AV user and technical support training.
